MeToo is getting side tracked says BJP MP
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Oct 2018 1:12 PM GMTMany women in Hollywood have come forward to speak up about the sexual harassers and abusers. Producers and popular actors have lost their respect and jobs due to the allegations and many have lost their credibility.
Many of them have been proven as real abusers too. In India, the movement as started taking a shape and many actress have come out to allege different popular personalities.
Now, BJP MP Udit Raj made interesting comments on the women and the movement. He said, "I welcome women sharing their grief and fighting against the abuse.
But the motto behind taking a name after 10 or 15 years is unclear. Women need strong protection but this just seems like crying victim for what was accepted before.
Many men who did nothing wrong are being dragged out by some women keeping this #MeToo as a mask to fulfill their personal vendetta. A woman who was in a physical relationship with a man cannot say it is sexual harassment after break-up.
How can we determine now after years if abuse has happened or crime has happened? MeToo is the most important movement in India and women do need security from smuch men. But few are derailing it for sure," concluded the MP.
Even Kamal Hassan expressed similar kind of reaction to the movement. He welcomed women coming out but said that the movement should not concentrate on film industry only and women from other industries should come out too. He asked for all the allegations to be thoroughly investigated.
Well, in Hollywood the movement got huge support as the women came up with many horrifying with clear thought on what is harassment and what isn't. Such clarity is lacking here and some real abusers are getting away, many feel so.
