The Technology major is facing backlash for hiring dancers wearing schoolgirl outfits after many guests shared their experiences on Twitter and other social media platforms. The dancers have allegedly wore "tight bra-like tops and fishnet tights" while entertaining the guests.
Twitter was flooded with outrage as people expressed disappointment and some people complained that it promoted the objectification of women. Many women posted messages on Twitter and other social networks, condemning Microsoft for wrong portrayal of women at its games event.
Now Microsoft has issued an apology for hiring dancers in schoolgirl outfits for the event. The company says it will investigate the issue further. Responding via a blog post head of Xbox Phil Spencer said the decision to hire the dancers "was absolutely not consistent or aligned" to the company's values. Microsoft added that it 'deserves criticism' for the mistake.
