Middlemen Defaming TRS In 2-BHK House Allocation

The ambitious two-bedroom scheme of the TRS government is fast turning out to be a money spinner for unscrupulous middlemen. They are collecting huge amounts from the aspirants and are vanishing.
According to sources, these middlemen are claiming that they are the followers of key political leaders and government officials. They are promising to get houses sanctioned for the needy on payment of bribe. They are collecting up to Rs 5 lakh from the applicants. Though some gangs have already been busted, there are several more operating freely and fleecing the gullible. According to sources, one such middleman from Venkatram Nagar in Qutbullahpur has collected up to Rs 2.26 crore and has even given fake possession certificates to the gullible applicants. Only later it was revealed that these certificates were fake.
Another gang has collected Rs 4.5 crore in just eight months from as many as 89 applicants. Similarly, another middleman from Uppuguda in the Old City collected Rs 1.1 crore and duped 17 persons.
Sources say that similar scamsters are operating in Warangal, Vardhannapet, Ghanpur, Huzurabad and Husnabad. Ditto with Jainath in Adilabad district. In Talamadugu mandal, a local TRS leader has 'allocated' 50 houses and reportedly collected huge amounts.
