The MIM is now on an expansion spree. It wants to spread its wings across the country and outside its burrough of Hyderabad. It has already notched up victories in Maharashtra and Bihar and is now trying to contest in states like Tamil Nadu, Bengal and UP in the days to come. It is also planning to foray into Gujarat too.

Here is another place where it wants to make its presence felt. The MIM has decided to make a bid for Bidar city in Karnataka. Bidar has a significant Muslim population and the MIM wants to put up a good show in this communally sensitive city. The party had contested the last elections to the civic body had won three of the eight seats it contested. This time, it wants to contest more seats and win more seats too.

Asaduddin Owaisi had held a series of meetings with the leaders from Karnataka including Bidar to chalk out the strategy for the upcoming elections. Senior party leaders Mohammad Ghouse and Shalibanda corporator Mustafa Ali have been appointed as the incharges for the elections. There are 35 divisions in the Bidar Municipal Corporation and the MIM wants to win enough seats to play kingmaker.
