Minister travels in RTC bus

Think minister, a long convoy of swank and shimmering cars racing through the streets comes to mind. Even ministers incharge of the transport department do not travel in buses. But on Thursday, senior politician and panchayat raj and rural development minister of Andhra Pradesh Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy surprised everyone by travelling in an RTC bus.
On Thursday, two new bus services were inaugurated in S Agraharam village under Punganur assembly constituency. The strongman from Chittoor purchased the first ticket in this bus service and travelled in the bus.
These buses ply from Punganur to Chennai via the mandal centres in the district and Chittoor. These services are very useful for the students from S Agraharam and S kothakota who go to Chennai to pursue their higher studies. Speaking on the occasion, minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said that the YSRCP government was taking steps to improve the lot of the poor and the marginalised sections of the society.
