India is recording thousands of fresh coronavirus cases each day. However, the number of those recovering is also on par with the newly registered cases.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an order on Tuesday to extend the guidelines for re-opening, issued on September 30, to remain in force up to November 30, 2020.

The Center has given conditional permission to open cinema halls, swimming pools and sports training centres on September 30. However, the Home Ministry today clarified that the guidelines are being extended to the end of November. The government has directed that the lockdown be strictly enforced in the containment zones.

On September 30, the Union Home Ministry gave the green signal to allow 50 per cent occupancy in cinema halls. It remains to be seen what decision the theatre owners will make due to the extension of the current October rules.

The order also mentions that there shall be no restriction on inter-state and intra-state movement of persons and goods. No separate permission/ approval /e-permit will be required for such movements.
