The Pulwama attack that was planned by the suicide bombers making the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers the target will go down as one of the dark incidents in the combined Jammu and Kashmir region in 2019. As a response to the terror attack, India launched the 2019 Balakot airstrike.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is now listing people who are behind the terror attack as terrorists. The Ministry said that Jaish-e-Mohammed leader Mohiuddin Aurangzeb Alamgir aka Ammar Alvi played a big role in the attack and termed the accused as a terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. It said that Alamgir was behind this and he was the mastermind and key conspirator behind the terror attacks.

The MHA gave reasons behind terming him a terrorist. In the official statements, the Ministry had alleged that Alamgir is a leader of the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad and he used to take care of managing the funds the outfit receives and spent them on carrying out attacks in India.

The new development comes days after Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar's brother was listed as a terrorist based on his actions. Earlier, LeT chief Hafiz Saeed's son Talha was also termed a terrorist by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Pulwama attack was planned by the Jaish-e-Mohammad had claimed the lives of as many as 40 CRPF personnel after the vehicle they were traveling was attacked by a suicide bomb.

It has to be mentioned here that the Union Government had amended the UAOA Act so that the Centre gets the power to list a person or entity as a terrorist and terror outfit. If this happens, the person and entity will be under constant watch and the security forces will look for them and closely monitor their actions to prevent any unwanted developments.

Pakistani-based Jaish-e-Mohammed is often dubbed a terror outfit as it tries to create unrest in the Kashmir region and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. On many occasions, the activities and attacks planned by the outfit send shocking waves across India. The outfit has been actively doing this for over two decades, since the 2000s.
