Veteran Indian women's cricketer Mithali Raj, who leads the team in the limited-overs and the shorter format of the game added yet another feather in her cap in the match against South Africa.

The right-handed batter became the first Indian women's cricketer to reach the milestone of completing 10,000 International runs across the formats. She is only next to England's Charlotte Edwards who scored 10,273 runs.

The legendary player achieved the huge milestone with a boundary against Anne Bosch. Unfortunately, the Indian skipper lost her wicket the very next delivery. She is also very close to the record of reaching the milestone of becoming the first-ever women batter to complete 7000 runs in the 50-overs format. She needs 26 runs to reach the milestone.

Mithali Raj, who is often regarded as Batting Maestro Sachin Tendulkar of women's cricket has been representing India for 22 years. She made her ODI debut against Ireland in 1999.

Indian opener Smriti Mandhana is in all praise for her skipper for achieving the milestone. Calling the milestone a huge thing, Mandhana said this shows her consistency in her career.

After the milestone, congratulatory messages poured in for Mithali Raj from former cricketers to current crickets. Fans too congratulated Mithali Raj for her milestone.
