The ace player announced her decision of bidding goodbye to the team ending her association with the game that lasted for 23 long years. She had a dreamy career and her long-spanning career made many compare her with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
As making sports biopics is the new trend, a film on her life was announced titled Shabaash Mithu, which stars Taapsee Pannu in the titular role. The film is supposed to release this year and before the release of her film, she announced her retirement from all the formats of the game.
It would have been a stunning tribute for Mithali Raj if the film was released when she plays for the country like how happened with former India's Men's captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. India's best captain Dhoni's biopic was released when he was playing for India.
In her long note shared on Twitter, Mithali Raj said that she is gearing up to start her second innings and she wants everyone's love and blessings. However, she did not mention about her second innings as to what she would do next.
If her biopic would have released like Dhoni's, then Mithali Raj would become the second Indian cricketer to get the biopic released while playing for the country. Her glorious career saw Mithali Raj winning many memorable matches and becoming the highest run-scorer in women's cricket.
