MLC polls: Who will be benefited by large voter turnout?
X
Barely few hours from now the counting for the Graduate MLC elections, the parties and the candidates are analysing the voting trend. The steep hike in the poll percentage has left everyone baffled and bewildered. All the main parties are busy trying to understanding the meaning of the higher voter turnout.

There are reports that the ruling party has resorted to distribution of largesse to Graduate voters in several marriage function halls in the constituency. However, there was inordinate delay in distributing money, say sources. The BJP is also very confident that it got considerable chunk of votes in LB Nagar, Malakpet, Malkajgiri, Medchal and Uppal in the Hyderabad, rangareddy region. In the Mahabubnagar district, they claim good performance in Narayanpet, Gadwal, Kodangal and other areas. The Congress party appears to have done well in parts of Mahabubnagar district. In Devarakadra, however, TRS candidate Vani Devi appears to be having a clear edge. In the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda constituency too, the contest appears to be even with TRS, Congress and independents like Prof Kodandaram doing quite well in pockets.

Contrary to expectations, the TRS appears to have gained considerably in the last 48 hours. The larger turnout, the TRS feels, will benefit the party and that the party would win both the seats comfortably. The BJP feels that there is a clear wave against the TRS and that it would benefit the party. Prof Nageswar and Prof. Kodandaram feel that they would win with the help of the second preference votes.
