As the deadline given by the apex court to set up a trust to build the Ram Mandir as per the Ayodhya's verdict will end in four days, Modi made this announcement.
"I have come before you to give information on a very important and historic topic. This issue, like crores of people, is close to my heart and consider it my fortune to speak about this topic. This is connected to Ram Janamsthan Bhoomi and the construction of a grand temple at Ayodhya," Modi said in Lok Sabha.
"After the verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi issue came out, the people of India displayed remarkable faith in democratic processes and procedures. I salute the 130 crore people of India," said the prime minister.
The temple trust will be set up by the Centre which comprises 15 members and one of them will be a Dalit.
Following this Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to Twitter to confirm the set up of the temple trust. "There will be 15 trustees in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust out of which one trustee will always be from Dalit society," read his Tweet.
