Modi Cabinet Reshuffle: Gainers & Losers!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reshuffled his cabinet and inducted 19 new faces keeping in mind Assembly elections in few states and economic growth. Who were the gainers and losers of this rejig?

Gainers:

1) Piyush Goyal: In addition to the Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy, He receives Mines portfolio (Independent Charge).

2) Ravi Shankar Prasad: In addition to IT & Electronics, He will now look after Law Ministry.

3) Prakash Javadekar: Got elevated to Cabinet rank and would handle Human Resource Development (HRD) Portfolio.

4) Ananth Kumar: In addition to Chemicals and Fertilizers, He was assigned the job of Parliamentary Affairs which was taken care by M Venkaiah Naidu till now.

5) Manoj Singh: He gets Telecommunications (Independent Charge)

Losers:

1) Smriti Irani: Lost HRD Portfolio & now appointed as Textile Minister.

2) DV Sadananda Gowda: Earlier, He was shifted from Railways to Law ministry. Now, He was moved to Statistics and Programme implementation.

3) Jayant Sinha: Moved from Finance Minister (MoS) to Civil Aviation (MoS).

4) VK Singh: From Statistics and Programme Implementation Ministry (Independent Charge) to External Affairs (MoS).

5) Ch.Birender Singh: Shifted from Rural Development to Steel.
