Modi Hides Face Behind Mask At CM's Meet

Giving enough indication of the seriousness of the Corona spike up in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a review meeting with the chief ministers of various states with face mask on. This is the first time that the Prime Minister was seen with a face mask on. Perhaps, he is the only second head of the state to attend meetings with face mask on. Earlier, Chinese president Xi Jinping sported a mask ad moved around the people of his country.
But, this also shows the seriousness of the spike in Corona positive cases across the country. On March 25, Indian had just 657 Corona positive cases. But, now, the number of cases has gone up to 7600. With most state governments already rooting for an extension of the lockdown, Modi may well go ahead with the extension. But, Modi may have to come up with some financial solace to the beleaguered state governments to tide over the crisis.
Also, for the first ever time after the Corona crisis, Modi is holding a meeting of all the chief ministers and is eliciting their opinions on the lockdown. This shows that Modi is quite serious in arriving at a consensus and does not want any leakages in the implementation of the lockdown.
