Modi humble request to all actors

Modi made this request while speaking at the Madras University Centenary Auditorium. Modi said film industry plays a major part in popularizing fashion and urged all film stars to popularise made in india handlooms. Modi said that handloom products should also be made available online as youth were more interested on buying products online. He said handloom products were to be branded because Indian handloom products lack global branding.
"If film stars decide to use only handloom and handicraft products in one out of their five movies, then those movies will automatically attract good viewership," Modi said.
Modi said handloom could be used for curtains, clothes, bedsheets, doormat and more. Modi announced that starting this year National Handloom Day would be observed on August 7 every year. Make in India is an initiative program of the Government of India to encourage companies to manufacture their products in India. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 September 2014
