Modi Keeps Out KCR In Key Committee

They praised each other. They hugged each other warmly. They showed they are the best of friends. But, not anymore. Their relationship has turned cold and they don't seem to like each other's presence. No... We are not talking of any celebrity couple heading for splitsvilla. We are talking of the souring of relations between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana CM KCR.

The first indication was Modi's refusal to give an appointment to KCR, who wanted to invite him for the inauguration of the Kaleswaram project. Now comes the bigger shock. Prime Minister has not included KCR in the committee of Chief Ministers for transforming the agriculture in the country. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis is heading the committee, while CMs of Karnataka, Haryana, Arunachal, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh are members of the committee. KCR is not part of it. Though he has introduced schemes like Rythu Bandhu, he has not been included in the committee. This clearly shows that KCR has fallen out of Modi's favour.

Sources say that after the recent Lok Sabha elections, where the BJP had won four MP seats and defeated the likes of Vinod and Kalwakuntla Kavitha, the party has grown in confidence and feels that it has initiative on its side. It wants to emerge as an alternative to the TRS. It could be because of this that the BJP is trying to corner KCR. It remains to be seen how KCR addresses this issue and win's back Modi's confidence.
