Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi leads the online poll of readers choice for Time Magazine's prestigious 'Person of the Year 2016' award. US President-elect Donald Trump, Outgoing President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin were other strong contenders for the honour.

Narendra Modi stood as one among the top contenders for Time's 'Person of the Year' honour for fourth year in a row. For the Year 2016, Modi is leading with 21 percent. While Obama garnered Rs 7 percent votes, Trump and Putin received 6 percent of votes each. The poll ends on December 4th, 2016. Modi is likely to be Time's Person of the Year 2016 as only few days were left for the poll to end.
Notably, Modi won Time's Person of the Year 2014 with 16 percent of votes (five million votes approx).
