Modis Master Stroke Puts All Parties In A Spot

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hitting a master stroke with the Ayodhya issue. With just one year to go for the UP elections, he has timed the Ayodhya temple works inauguration very cleverly. He would get the Hindutwa support big time. But, the game does not end there. By the time the temple construction gets completed, it will be time for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Thus, both ways, he Is standing to gain.

There is another catch here. The Prime Minister has invited all the chief ministers to the August 5 programme. Any chief minister who does not attend the programme will have to lose risking the support of the Hindu voters. While some leaders like Pinarayi Vijayan can afford to do that, leaders like Ashok Gehlot, Uddhav Thackeray, Navin Patnaik and others cannot risk it.They would like to play safe. If most CMs attend, the works launch becomes a national event.

So, both ways, Modi will win. Showing those who attended the programme, he would say that Ayodhya temple is based on a national consensus. This will add to his image. As for those who refuse to attend, he and his party can brand them anti-Hindu.
