Modi Reaches Uttarakhand Temple, Unveils Adi Guru Statue!
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 Nov 2021 6:36 AM GMTThe Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi who celebrated Diwali with the soldiers on Thursday had landed in Uttarakhand on Friday to unveil the statue of celebrated Indian philosopher and theologian Adi Shankara at the famous Kedarnath Temple premises. During his visit, the Prime Minister offered his prayers at the famous temple.
Narendra Modi also inaugurated Adi Shankaracharya's Samadhi at the temple premises. The Samadhi was destroyed when the state faced severe floods in 2013. The state government had reconstructed the Samadhi and the Prime Minister inaugurated it on Friday.
He is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for a few multiple projects and inaugurate the projects like Saraswati Retaining Wall Aasthapath and Ghats, Mandakini Retaining Wall Aasthapath, and others. The Uttarakhand government made elaborate arrangements for the Prime Minister's visit.
To inaugurate the projects and unveil the statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Dehradun airport. He received a grand welcome from Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (retd), Speaker Premchand Aggarwal, and others.
After unveiling the 12-foot statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya, Narendra Modi addressed the event and said, the maths and jyotirlingas' are connected with us. This decade belongs to Uttarakhand. The state will attract more tourists in the next 10 years, he said.
The Prime Minister said that, when the state received floods, everyone doubted the redevelopments in the state and temple. My inner voice kept on motivating me that the redevelopment will be done in a bigger way and the works in the state are proving that, he said.
Ahead of Prime Minister's Uttarakhand visit, Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) leader Kishan Reddy who is serving as the Minister of Development of North Eastern Region of India took to Twitter to share a glimpse of Adi Guru Adi Shankaracharya's statue. In the tweet, the Central Minister said various programmes will be held.
