More than 100 Omicron cases reported in India across 11 states!

The list of states that have reported the Omicron-triggered Coronavirus cases is getting bigger and bigger. Just days after crossing the 50-mark, the Omicron cases in the country have doubled and surpassed the century mark. As of now, as many as 11 states have reported Omicron cases.
Addressing the press on Friday, Health Ministry's Joint Secretary Lav Agrawal said the Omicron case count had crossed the 100-mark as 101 cases were detected so far as of now. Sharing more details, he said, 11 States/ Union Territories have reported the cases.
Quoting the global health agency "World Health Organisation (WHO) as saying, the Health Secretary said, as of now 91 countries reported Omicron variant of the pandemic and said, if community transmission takes place then there are high chances for the Omicron variant to get replaced by the Delta variant.
Talking about the fresh Coronavirus in the country, Lav Agarwal said, India has been seeing less than 10,000 new cases from the past 20 days. The fresh cases have come down rapidly. Despite the dip in the cases, Kerala continues to be the major contributor to the Covid cases.
Giving the list of the states that had reported the Omicron case, Lav Agarwal said, Maharashtra has the highest number of cases with 32, followed by Delhi(22), Rajasthan(17), Karnataka, Telangana(8), Gujarat, Kerala(5), Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal(1).
