Usually, we see men as bus drivers and drivers of heavy vehicles. But a woman broke all the stereotypes and got appointed as the bus driver. She became a big sensation with her new position by becoming the first-ever female bus driver of the state-run buses.
One Priyanka Sharma who is a mother of two was selected as the first female bus driver in Uttar Pradesh. After her appointment, she was interviewed by the media and she recalled the struggles she faced in getting the job.
She said that she lost her husband at an early age due to his drinking habits. As she has to take care of the responsibilities of her two kids she started doing odd jobs to meet the expenses. She went to the national capital Delhi and started a job as a helper and learned to drive.
Priyanka Sharma got to know that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath decided to give chance to women as bus drivers. She enrolled herself as the applicant and cleared the exam and underwent the required training.
After this, she was appointed as the driver. People who heard her story are lauding her for the efforts she has put in to get the job and script history by becoming the first female bus driver in Uttar Pradesh.
As the responsibility of her two kids dropped on her, Priyanka Sharma decided to get a good job to support her family. All the hard work she had done paid off as he was selected as the female bus driver. She was appointed as the driver of the state-run bus transport and given the revised pay scale she is expected to get a good salary.
