MP RRR alleges harmful chemicals in liquor, liquor body responds!
By: Tupaki Desk | 2 Feb 2022 6:48 AM GMTYS Jagan Mohan Reddy made many promises before the 2019 elections. Eradicating liquor sales and imposing a total ban on liquor sales was one of the key promises. The election promises made wonders for the YSRCP in the polls and the party witnessed a landslide victory.
However, the liquor ban was not imposed in the state and new brands were introduced. To this, the Andhra Pradesh government said that the liquor ban will be done in a phased manner and as a baby step for the same, the liquor prices were increased largely.
The opposition parties often use the liquor ban as a weapon to target the state government. Taking a leaf from the opposition leaders, YSRCP rebel MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju also raised his concerns over the issue and launched an attack on the government on liquor issues.
As a fresh attack against the government, Narasapuram Parliamentarian Raghurama Krishnam Raju aka RRR alleged that the liquor brands sold in Andhra Pradesh consist of dangerous chemicals that are harmful to the consumers.
The Rebel MP had even alleged that the toxic chemicals in the liquor brands were detected when the liquor samples were tested at a laboratory. A ruling party MP leveling sensational allegations against the party had made many heads turn. According to him, the chemicals in the brands are very harmful and will leave a heavy toll on the consumers' health.
But the issue took a big turn with the Andhra Pradesh State Beverages Corporation Limited reacting to the allegations of the rebel MP. The body is said to have asked the MP to send the details of the test reports. In a letter written to Raghurama Krishnam Raju, the body asked him to share the details of the medical tests.
Raghurama Krishnam Raju has been locking horns with the Andhra Pradesh government for quite some time. Taking the fight to the next level, the rebel MP said that he would resign from his position if the government fails to disqualify him as a Member of Parliament. We have to wait and see if the MP will resign from his post or not as announced earlier.
