Is Congress Giving A Walkover To Kavitha Kalwakuntla?
By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Sep 2020 11:30 AM GMTThe impact of the Operation Akarsh, unleashed by the ruling TRS has completely immobilised and unnerved the Congress in Nizamabad. With the elections for the local body constituency MLC post round the corner, the TRS is moving its pawns very fast and is luring as many corporators, MPPs and ZPTC members as possible to ensure a facile win for KCR,s daughter Kalwakuntla Kavitha.
Instead of making a counter move, the Congress Party appears to be paralysed. One after another, the MPTCs and ZPTCs from the Congress are deserting the party. Unfortunately for the local Congress leaders, there is no guidance from the state leadership, which is busy focusing only on Graduates Constituency MLCs and the Dubbak bypolls. At one stage, the Congress actively considered not contesting and giving a walk over. Finally, Subhash Reddy filed the nomination. Afraid that he might withdraw at the last moment, the local leaders has asked senior leader Manala Mohan Reddy as a backup.
The Congress had as many as 154 MPTCs and ZPTC members in the undivided Nizamabad district. Among these eligible voters, as many as 50 Congress elected representatives have already left the party to join the TRS. The Congress is doing pretty much nothing to stop them from joining the TRS.
