Dhoni's Parents Want Their Son To Retire
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 July 2019 11:31 AM GMTSo much talk is happening over the retirement of Mahendra Singh Dhoni post the 2019 World Cup. Mr.Cool, however, is yet to inform either BCCI or Selectors about his plans to leave the shorter format of the game.
In the recent World Cup, Dhoni scored 273 runs in 8 Innings and that's the highest by any of the Middle Order Batsman. However, Lack of intent and eating up too many balls was criticized by former Cricketers including Sachin Tendulkar. Such kind of approach had costed India Final berth as well. Dhoni made 50 runs in the Semi Final but made it difficult for himself by not accelerating when India required 42 runs in 4 Overs.
Dhoni's Childhood Coach Keshav Banerjee disclosed a shocking fact: 'On Sunday, I visited the house of Dhoni. His Parents expressed the view that Dhoni should leave cricket. When I said he should play for one more year until the T20 World Cup, They questioned who would take care of their big house until then. Then, I asked them to take care of the house for one more year'.
Keshav Banerjee was the first person to identify catching skills of Dhoni. He was instrumental in the transformation of Dhoni from a goalkeeper to wicket-keeper.
