Shocking: Dhoni sacked as IPL Skipper!

He voluntarily quit Test cricket in December 2014 and as skipper of India's ODI & T20 Team in January 2017. For the first time ever, He was sacked as the skipper and that bring an end to 'Captain Cool' era.
Dhoni was ousted as the skipper of IPL Franchise Rising Pune Supergiants months before the start of 10th Edition.
Rising Pune Supergiants Owner Sanjiv Goenka informed Dhoni hasn't stepped down but they have chosen Steven Smith to lead the side. He, however, maintains Dhoni continues to be an important member of the franchise. The reason behind replacement is that a Youngster like Smith can revamp the side ahead of IPL 10.
Dhoni have an impeccable record as an IPL Skipper. He was the skipper of Chennai Super Kings in 8 Seasons. Under his captaincy, CSK qualified for Semis in all the seasons, emerged as champions in 2010 & 2011 and finished runners-up in four editions. However, Dhoni-led Pune Supergiants finished at 7th Position in IPL 9. As skipper, Dhoni won 83 out of 143 matches and this is a record.
