He said that reason behind selecting jersey no 7 is that his birthday falls on the 7th of July and July is also the 7th month. For that reason, I have 7 as my jersey, Dhoni said.
"A lot of people initially thought that 7 is a lucky number for me and all of that. But I chose the number for a very simple reason. I was born on the 7th of July. So it's the 7th day of the 7th month, that was the reason," Mahendra Singh Dhoni said revealing the story behind his jersey number.
Mahendra Dhoni, one of the successful captains of India who has the record of winning all three ICC Trophies, has dropped his gloves from international cricket on the 15th of August in 2020. Through a simple social media post, Dhoni announced the shocking decision.
