TRP Scam: Mumbai Police Allegedly Links Arnab Goswami To The case!

The Target Rating Point(TRP) scam that was busted by Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh in October, this year involving many popular channels has sent shocking waves across the country.
Since then, the Mumbai police have been digging deeper into the TRP scam. As the latest development, the Mumbai police is said to have got a big breakthrough in the case.
Reports claimed that, in a remand report submitted to a court, the Mumbai Police claimed that to increase the TRP rating Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami paid lakhs of rupees to former CEO of the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) Partho Dasgupta.
The Mumbai Police moved the metropolitan magistrate's court to seek directives to take Dsgupta into their custody. The police told the court Dasgupta misused his position to distort the TRP ratings of Republic Television channels.
To distort the TRP ratings, Dasgupta returns lakhs of rupees in return in multiple occasions. We got the information on Dasgupta misusing his powers and position, the cops told the court reportedly.
In the remand report, the Mumbai police mentioned that "Republic owners" are on the list of accused in the TRP rating scam. However, the cops did not mention Arnab Goswami in the report.
The cops said that the former Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) CEO purchases jewelry and other valuable things with the money he received from the Republic owners and the valuables were seized from his residence.
It has to be noted that back in November the police mentioned 12 persons in their charge sheet and claimed that the accused have tampered the 'BAR-o-meters' to measure the TRP ratings.
Now, the experts claimed that Arnab Goswami might also land in another controversy as he is the editor-in-chief of Republic TV. Looks like, Arnab will attract more and more difficulties.
