Munugode By-poll: Youth Voters To Be Deciding Factor!

The election date is fast approaching for the Munugode by-poll. The much-awaited elections are just three weeks away from now. The political heat had gripped the poll-bound region already with the leaders of the major parties visiting Munugode at regular intervals. Recently, TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy campaigned for the Congress candidate.

Media reports say that there are high chances for Telangana Chief Minister KCR to visit Munugode for a big tour. His visit is likely to be for three days and multiple events might be planned as the other parties are busy with campaign activities.

Amid this, the discussion on young voters has started as more than 25,000 new voters reportedly applied for vote rights. There are already 2,20,520 voters in the poll-bound Munugode and around 25,000 voters have applied for the votes.

Voters who recently crossed the age of 18 and recently married women applied for vote rights. People who went out of Munugode for employment or work purposes have come back for the votes. The majority of the new votes are likely to get accepted.

As per the official data, around 45 percent of voters are below the age group of 40. They are going to play a key role in the election and they might be deciding factors. If they can use their vote right correctly and elect the right leader it would change the fate of the region.

But we have to wait and see if they vote for the right leader or for the candidate who gives them money. Political experts say that money is going to flow like water in the by-election.

Information says that there are around 8,500 voters who are below the age of 19. There are over 51,000 voters who are between 20-30. Between 30 to 39, there are around 66,000 voters. All age groups have around 45 percent of voters which is huge.

Munugode by-election became inevitable after Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy resigned as MLA and took BJP's route. He is the BJP candidate for the by-poll. TRS and Congress fielded Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy and Palvai Sravanthi Reddy for Munugode respectively.
