Munugode: Congress candidate left in the lurch, leades busy with Bhrat Jodo

Though Munugode is its seat, the Congress Party is finding the going very tough in the bypoll. The biggest problem for the party, if sources are to be believed, is fund crunch. All the moneybags of the party are simply not seen anywhere around. So, party's MLA candidate Palwai Sravanthi is facing severe financial issues during the campaign.
With the BJP and the TRS on a funding spree, the Congress finds itself totally outsmarted and outwitted. The asking rate per vote has gone up exponentially in Munugode thanks to two high-profile rivals – Komatireddy and Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy. The Congress is unable to match these two parties in terms of spending. What more, there are no donations forthcoming for the party.
Another major problem for the Congress candidate is that all the resourceful leaders are currently busy with the Bharat Jodo yatra of Rahul Gandhi. Leaders like Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Jana Reddy and even Duddilla Sridhar Babu are involved in the organizing of the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Another key leader – Komatireddy Venkat Reddy – is abroad and has deliberately kept away from the campaign.
The big let down for the Congress candidate is Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Revanth Reddy. Revanth Reddy has not visited the constituency so far. What more? He has pointblank told the Congress candidate that he cannot provide her with any funds for the bypoll. As a result, Palwai Sravanthi is cutting a sorry figure. Several grassroots level Congress leaders are already working either for the BJP or for the TRS.
