Controversial cricketer Srisanth who was banned from international cricket hits headlines again. If reports are to be believed S. Sreesanth was attacked with a knife while he was in jail after being arrested for his alleged involvement in IPL spot-fixing in 2013. Its known that Srisanth released from jail in 2013 after bail was granted.

The news was revealed by Srisanth Brother-in-law and singer Balakrishnan. Madhu Balakrishnan said the Kerala pacer survived a murder attempt in Tihar jail while he was walking inside the jail compound.

“A goon in the jail threatened to murder Sreesanth with a weapon. The attacker injured Sri’s hand with a sharp edged knife. Luckily, Sreesanth escaped unhurt. After he (Sreesanth) returned home following 26 days in Tihar jail in May 2013, he revealed this," Shared Balakrishnan

Sreesanth was banned for life by BCCI for his alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the 2013 edition of IPL. Sreesanth, who was playing for Rajasthan Royals at the time, was arrested in Mumbai by Delhi police during IPL in May 2013.Srisanth is currently facing the trial in Delhi court on the fixing allegations and the verdict is expected to be pronounced early next month.
