Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday sent a strong message to the people who are involved in the atrocities against Dalits. 'We hear about incidents targeting our Dalit brothers even Today. My head hangs in shame, ' he commented while reacting on the atrocities on Dalits even 70 years after the Independence.
NaMo made these comments at the launch of National SC/ST Hub in Ludhiana. PM opined Dalits or Adivasi would change the fortunes of the country if provided opportunities.
National SC/ST Hub will help Dalits and Adivasis turn into entrepreneurs so that jobs could be provided to others.
Under Startup India scheme, Around 1.25 lakh branches of Nationalised Banks in the country were asked to sanction loans up to Rs 1 crore to at least one individual belonging to the SC and ST Caste. This move would create as many as 3.75 lakh entrepreneurs.
