My Son stopped ME from becoming PM: Chandrababu

In 1997, United Front Government which was in power chose then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu as the Prime Minister of the country. However, Political Chanakya turned down the offer.
On the occasion of his 35th Wedding Anniversary, Chandrababu Naidu disclosed its his son Nara Lokesh who was instrumental in making making him say 'NO' to Prime Minister post. 'My Son told Me, Prime Minister post is a temporary but Chief Minister post is permanent. That's why, I could't accept it,' he reveals.
Telugu Desam Party was behind uniting the Anti-Congress forces in the late 90s to form United Front Government at the centre. By then, Chandrababu Naidu was just 2 years old as Chief Minister. Still, He became the first choice for PM post due to the numerical strength of TDP MPs and his leadership qualities.
