Indian fashion e-commerce company headquartered in Bengaluru Myntra is a popular destination to purchase personalized gift items for many Indians. The firm was acquired by Flipkart in May 2014.

The firm made it to the headlines after it has decided to change the logo of the company. The new development came after the Mumbai Cyber Crime department officials directed the firm to change the logo in an email.

The latest development came after a member of Avesta Foundation NGO, who goes by the name Naaz Patel lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Cyber Police claiming that Myntra’s logo is offensive towards women.

The complaint was lodged against the firm in December 2020. In the complaint, the NGO member sought directives to remove the logo as it is offensive in nature for women.

In the letter sent to the management of Myntra, Mumbai Cyber Crime department officials asked the officials to change the logo of the firm. The officials are convinced by the arguments of Naaz Patel that the logo is offensive towards women.

It is said that the management of Myntra gave a positive response to the email sent by Mumbai Cyber Crime department officials. The firm will change the logo in a month and started working on the new logo.
