Nagendra Babu Intentionally Murdered Divya Tejaswini

A 21-year-old engineering student Vankayalapati Divya Tejaswini was brutally killed by Budigi Nagendra Babu alias Chinna Swamy (25) on Thursday morning in Vijayawada. The love affair turned into a murder has caused a sensation in the city.
According to the postmortem report, there were 17 stab wounds on Tejaswini's body. The murderer, Nagendra has claimed that he did not slit Tejaswini's throat and that they secretly got married a year ago. He cleverly tried to deviate the case into suicide angle by saying they both wanted to die together.
The latest developments that day are now coming to light with a police investigation. At 10 'o'clock in the morning on the 15th, Divya's mother woke her up for breakfast‌, but Divya continued her sleep. A few moments later, her mother came downstairs with the arrival of the volunteer.
In meantime, Nagendra entered the house through the backdoor and locked the room from inside. Her mother felt suspicious when she had seen boy sandals in front of the room and she knocked on the door to know what's happening. By the time, her mother along with some others tried opening the door, the accused badly injured the girl with a steel knife in the room.
Police noticed a bed sheet hanging from a fan in Divya's room. Judging by the whole scene, the police came to the conclusion that Nagendra had come to her house with the intention of killing Divya. Initially, he wanted to hang her but after Divya's mother screaming loudly, he stabbed her with a knife and injured himself to escape the situation.
Now, the case was transferred to Disha police station where a DSP rank officer is investigating the case.
