Naidu succeeded in bringing AIIMS to AP

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan called on Venkaaih Naidu yesterday to convey that his ministry has agreed to set up an AIIMS in residual state of Andhra Pradesh .Harshavardan reportedly requested the Naidu to find out 200 acres land to construct the prestigious institution.
In response to this Naidu informed Vardhan that he has already requested the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu to immediately identify and allot two hundred acres of land for the purpose.
According to source Venkaiah took initiative of getting AIIMS to the resuidary state.recently he wrote letter to Harshavardhan by explaining the need of having AIIMS in resuidary state.Venkaiah Naidu had demanded that the AIIMS was promised in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 and therefore, the Centre should honour it.
According to the AP Reorganisation Act, the Centre shall establish one AIIMS-type Super-Specialty Hospital cum-Teaching Institution in the successor state of Andhra Pradesh.
The original All India Institute of Medical Sciences is situated in New delhi. Meanwhile, six new prototypes of AIIMS situated in Patna, Raipur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur and Rishikesh .Till now no south state had AIIMS inistitue.
However in 2012 the Union health ministry has turned down request of Kerala to set up AIIMS-like institutions in those state.The newly formed Andhra Pradesh Government has already begun identifying land required to set up the prestigious institutions and they are considering places like Tirupati, the Krishna-Guntur region and Visakhaptanam,
