Until the last round, YCP Candidate Alla Ramakrishna Reddy and TDP Candidate Nara Lokesh had competed so well. In the end, Sitting MLA Alla emerged victorious with a majority of 5,200 votes.
Post the defeat, Nara Lokesh issued a statement: 'Congratulations to Alla Ramakrishna Reddy who got elected as Mangalagiri MLA. People of Mangalagiri stood as inspiration by ensuring the polling happened in a peaceful manner. I am respecting the people's mandate. Will be accessible to the party leaders and cadre in the constituency. I would do my bit for the development of Mangalagiri. Will stay with the people and fight on people's issues'.
