By: Tupaki Desk | 22 Jan 2016 12:01 PM GMTPrime Minister Narendra Modi responded on the suicide of dalit student Rohith Vemula at the University of Hyderabad. 'A youth of my country, Rohith, was compelled to commit suicide. What his family must have gone through. Mother India has lost a son. There will be reasons, there will be politics but the fact remains that a mother has lost her son. I feel the pain,' an emotional Modi told during his speech at the convocation ceremony of the BR Ambedkar University.
Just when Modi was addressing the gathering, Two Students raised slogans 'Modi Murdabad' & 'Modi Go Back'. They were soon sent out by the Police and University Proctor says action will be taken against the two students as per the rules.
HRD ministry Smriti Irani submitted her report on Rohith Vemula's suicide. She has set up a Judicial Commission to probe the sequence of events leading to the research scholar's suicide.
