In the wake of the second phase of the nationwide lockdown in India coming to an end on the 3rd of May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting on how about dealing with the lockdown.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan were present at the meeting.

The Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) on Wednesday gave a nod to allow the migrant workers and students stranded at various places to get back home and as a result, a special train carried the migrants to Jharkhand from Telangana.

The first phase of lockdown imposed on the third week of March was extended as the positive cases were increasing rapidly. When PM Modi conducted a video conference with the Chief Ministers of the states, the majority of them voted for the extension of the lockdown.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the countrymen of the country tomorrow and will make an announcement on the lockdown whether it will be lifted or extended. We may have to wait a few more hours to get more information.
