PM Narendra Modi To Visit Serum Institute Of India This Month!
By: Tupaki Desk | 26 Nov 2020 9:50 AM GMTPune based immunobiological drugs manufacturer Serum Institute of India has joined hands with the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca to manufacture vaccine candidate 'Covishield' and distribute the same in India.
Recently, the vaccine candidate 'Covishield' was given to thousands of volunteers across the globe. The vaccine trial reports are awaited by SII, the University of Oxford, and AstraZeneca.
Amid this, it is believed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Serum Institute of India (SII) on the 28 of this month. The reason behind Modi's SII visit is to monitor the vaccine production process and discuss the distribution plan once the vaccine is rolled out.
However, there is no official confirmation on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to SII either from the PM or the Prime Minister's office yet.
The reports of Narendra Modi's visit to SII came days after the University of Oxford and AstraZeneca claiming that in the late-stage clinical trials the vaccine candidate showed nearly 90 percent effectiveness.
If we have to take anything from the reports, PM Modi will review the vaccine production process at SII, and how about going with the production and distribution of the vaccine.
It has to be noted that recently, PM Modi chaired a meeting with Chief Ministers of the worst-affected states and directed them to work on cold storage facilities to store the vaccines.
