Finally, Vikram lander of Chandrayan 2 has been found. Yes. The crash site on the moon’s surface has been identified. It’s not ISRO, but NASA, the US space agency that has managed to locate the crash site. It has also released a satellite image of the impact site of the lander. The image showed that parts of Vikram lander were lying scattered in more than a dozen locations spanning several kilo metres.

NASA tweeted thus: The #Chandrayaan2 Vikram lander has been found by our @NASAMoon mission, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. See the first mosaic of the impact site https://go.nasa.gov/33Dl5Fr

The Vikram Lander, which blasted off on July had hard landed within 500 metres of the designated site on September 7. The Chandrayaan 2 was intended to to make India the fourth country after the US, Russia and China to land on the moon. Vikram was to drop down from the main space craft and descend for five days to soft land on the moon’s surface However, the Vikram Lander hard landed and broke into pieces. The communications from the Vikram were snapped barely 2.1 km above the surface.
