NASA finds Vikram lander crash site

Finally, Vikram lander of Chandrayan 2 has been found. Yes. The crash site on the moonâs surface has been identified. Itâs not ISRO, but NASA, the US space agency that has managed to locate the crash site. It has also released a satellite image of the impact site of the lander. The image showed that parts of Vikram lander were lying scattered in more than a dozen locations spanning several kilo metres.

The Vikram Lander, which blasted off on July had hard landed within 500 metres of the designated site on September 7. The Chandrayaan 2 was intended to to make India the fourth country after the US, Russia and China to land on the moon. Vikram was to drop down from the main space craft and descend for five days to soft land on the moonâs surface However, the Vikram Lander hard landed and broke into pieces. The communications from the Vikram were snapped barely 2.1 km above the surface.
