NATA National Youth Cricket Cup 2014
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Sep 2014 3:23 PM GMTNew Jersey: North American Telugu Association (NATA) National Youth Cricket Cup 2014 Tournament was conducted on Aug 29 to Sept 1st in a very friendly atmosphere. This tournament was organized by NATA Cricket Committee led by Nagesh Mukkamalla, Sreekanth Penumada, Sathya Pathapati and Srinivas Ganagoni under the guidance of BODs Rajeshwar Reddy, Rami Reddy Alla and Dr. Raghava Reddy as advisors. West Indies Ex-Captain Alvin KalliCharran, Indian former cricketer Coach Ashok Patel, NATA Joint Treasurer Mohan Reddy Patolla graced the occasion, encouraged the kids and presented trophies to the Winners and Runners. Plainsboro Deputy Mayor Neil Lewis has attended and announced that they are working with the county and allotting the money for the Cricket ground.
Over 500 people attended this event along with several NATA Board of Directors Hari Velkur, Chinnababu Reddy, Membership Committee Chair Anna Reddy, co-chair Dwaraknatha Reddy, Regional Vice President Shiva Meka, Cricket Committee members Pratap Reddy Palagiri, Bala Lingala, Ugendar Karnati, Anjan Karnati along with NATA Regional Coordinators Linga Reddy, Harinath Kurukunda from North East (New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania). CricMax team Arpit Shah, Shrey Patel , Dipesh Patel and Amar Shah, Coaches Lalta Persuad, Prathik, Dasharath and Coach Earl Daley were also present.
Nagesh Mukkamalla was instrumental in organizing preliminary rounds as well as the finals with the help Sathya Pathapati, Sreekanth Penumada, Pratap Palagiri, Bala Lingala, Anirudh and dedicated volunteers Shera Khanguras, Jignesh Joshi, Vinay Patel, Kethan Parikh, Sudhir Parwal, Vijay, Jagan, Devayani, Prerana, Murali, Neeraj, Ajay, Ravi, Ugendra Karnati, Manoj, , Venkat Gundlapally, Chakra Palakollu, Lakshmi Mukkamalla, Sandhya Lingala, Harinatha Reddy and supported by all BODs and NATA Team from North East area.

A total of 8 teams from all over U.S.A (CA, NC, PA, DC, NY and NJ) participated in the tournament and played 14 round robin games. Two teams Triangle Cricket League (TCL) and CricMax strikers made it to finals and were played on September 1st. North Carolina Team TCL (Coach Pratik Phadke) were the winners and New Jersey Team CricMax strikers (Coach Ashok Patel) were Runners Up.
Alvin KalliCharran presented the Winner Cup to TCL and Coach Ashok Patel presented the Runners cup to CricMax Strikers. Other prizes were are also presented by NATA leaders to following are the prize winners:
Man of the Series – Priyank Sukhadia (Indoor Cricket USA)
Best Batsman – Sanjay Stanley (TCL-NC),
Best Bowler - Yash Kangura (CricMax Strickers)
Best Wicket Keeper - Sai Teja Mukkamalla (CricMax Strickers)
Best Fielder: Arnav Kothapally (CCA).

Game 1 – Aditya Sharma (CricMax), Game 2 – Yash Kangura (CricMax), Game 3 – Priyank Sukhadia (Indoor Cricket), Game 4 – Sai Mukkamalla (CricMax), Game 5 – Veer Churiwalla (Indoor Cricket), Game 6 –James Hinds (NY), Game 7 – Omkar Zope (NJ Warriors), Game 8 – Ishan Bansal (CLNJ Warriors), Game 9 – Monti Arya (TCL), Game 10 – Sanjay Stanley(TCL), Game 11 – Rohan Paadeke, Game 12 – Ashwin Manur(CricMax), Game 13 – Sanjay Sanley (TCL), Game 14 – Priyank Sukhadia (Indoor Cricket), Game 15 – Rohan Arvindh (CLNJ Warriors).
Alvin KalliCharran was amazed by the talent and predicted that these players could play for USA cricket team in the future and play international cricket. Srikanth Penumada and Rami Reddy Alla were the MCs for this event. This sport event is conducted to promote the cricket among the youth. The tournament truly helped spread the word about the ideals and vision of NATA. Thanks to Sridhar Chillara garu for their unconditional support and promoting NATA Youth Cricket and thanks to TV5-Srikanth & 6TV for covering the event.
