Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Chief Naveen Patnaik retained power in Odisha for a fifth consecutive term.
BJD is leading in more than 100 out of 147 MLA Seats in Odisha. BJP, on the other hand, leads only in 25 seats. Which means, Naveen Patnaik will continue in power for the next 5 years.
Naveen Patnaik forayed into politics after the demise of his Father Biju Patnaik in 1997. Although he begun his career as a reluctant Politicians, Naveen Patnaik emerged as an unchallenged Leader in the past two decades. In 2019 Polls, BJD offered 7 MP Tickets to Women and that factor fetched it victory. Not to ignore that BJP gained so much in Odisha in the past few years.
