Ending India's long quest of winning Gold at Olympics, Neeraj Chopra bagged a gold at the Tokyo Olympics in the men's javelin with a throw of 87.58 metres.

Neeraj Chopra who was one of the athletes expected to bring a medal to India had made it to the finals from the qualifiers with a record throw.

At the finals too, he showed his consistency. While he won Gold, Czech's Jakub Vadlejch and Vitezslav Vesely claimed Silver and bronze respectively.

Neeraj Chopra had created history by becoming the first Indian Athlete to win gold in track and field in 100 years. Coming to the individual category, Chopra is the second Indian to do so. Earlier Abhinav Bindra bagged a gold.
