The American Production Company Netflix is a big name in the OTT space. It enjoys a good number of subscribers in many nations. But the company could not compete with other platforms as an account owned by a person is shared with others. This made the company suffer many losses.
Now the news is that the Netflix company is reportedly aiming to put an end to the account-sharing option which is troubling it. The work is underway and the feature might be stopped from early 2023 as per the media reports which are doing rounds.
The Password Sharing option has been troubling the OTT company for a few months now. Despite the company seeing a huge benefit when the world was hit hard by the novel Coronavirus pandemic, Netflix has been seeing issues when things started getting normal.
The theatres started seeing good footfalls and other OTT platforms are moving forward by providing engaging content. However, Netflix lagged in this regard. Users sharing their accounts with others is a big reason behind this. The OTT platform saw a big loss with this.
To overcome the issue, Netflix is in plans allegedly to remove the Password Sharing option. If this happens then users cannot share the accounts and those who want to use the platform should get a new account. This helps the platform in seeing the users count getting increased.
