New Districts Row: Two demands coming from Nagari!
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 Feb 2022 7:41 AM GMTIt is known that the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had pushed the districts in the state to 26 for a better administration. The new districts were made on the grounds of the Parliament constituencies and the district headquarters were also fixed by the government.
The newly added districts did not go well with many and people from various regions are protesting demanding that their region should be made the district headquarters.
The formation of a few districts also raised a few objections from various sections of people. Joining the force, a few organisations have raised a new demand that Nagari should be included in the Balaji district. Holding placards, they raised the same demand.
They have raised their objections over Nagari named in Chittoor district and demanded that the Assembly constituency should be included in Tirupati as the temple city is very close.
As additional demand, the Dalit organisations are asking the Chittoor district to name after the father of the Indian Constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. They have urged one and all to come together.
A protest demanding the same was held at the Ambedkar Circle in Nagari by the Dalit Organisation leaders. The leaders said that they want the Nagari constituency to be included in the Balaji district and the Chittoor district should be named after Ambedkar.
They said that they will not accept the new districts and said that they will intensify their protests if their demands were not addressed by the Andhra Pradesh government in this regard. The Dalit Organisation leaders have announced their demand near the Ambedkar statue.
This is the new demand coming from the people after the new districts were added. Earlier, a few people including the Kapu leaders have objected to the Vijayawada district named after Tollywood Thespian and former Chief Minister NTR. They want Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga name for the district.
As another demand, Nandamuri Balakrishna had demanded that his Hindupur constituency should be made the district quarters as it has good facilities and resources. A small protest was reportedly held in the Assembly constituency.
