Be prepared for new Rs 100 Notes
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Oct 2017 10:30 AM GMTReserve Bank of India (RBI) seems to be on a mission to replace all of the old currency with new ones to curb black money and stop terror funding. After scrapping old Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes, New Rs 2000 and Rs 500 denominations were introduced. Even new Rs 200 and Rs 50 notes were launched to increase the money circulation.
And now, RBI is all set to bring new Rs 100 notes. The printing of these currency notes gonna begin from April next year, probably after the printing of new Rs 200 notes comes to an end. New Rs 200 notes will be entering into the system only after six months.
Existing Rs 100 notes will be gradually withdrawn without disrupting the system. To prevent re-calibration of ATMs, New 100 notes will have the same dimension and size of the old notes. Only one of the four cassettes in the ATMs will be used for dispensing Rs 100 notes.
