New Trend in India: Mandir vs Masjid Issues Across Regions!
X
The Mandir vs Masjid issue is not just restricted to the temple city Varanasi alone. A few other cities and regions are also facing the same. Even the Telangana capital city Hyderabad faced the issue with Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party locking horns over the Bhagya Laxmi Mandir at the Charminar.

The BJP-ruled Karnataka faced such an issue now. There has been an opinion that the Jamia mosque was built on top of a Hanuman mandir. The Right-wing groups joined the row and gave a call for a 'Chalo Srirangapatna' march today. The groups said that Hanuman Chalisa will be read at the Jamia mosque.

Amid this, the government had swung into action and imposed Section 144 CrPC in Mandya's Srirangapatna town. A two-day-long curfew was imposed as a precautionary measure. The public was asked to support them in this and Police warned that people cannot gather in big numbers on the roads.

All the roads that leads to the Jamia Mosque were closed and the traffic was diverted given the curfew restrictions. Police personnel were deployed in large numbers to deal with any unexpected developments. As there were reports that there is a possibility of clashes, the government took the decision.

Just like any other disputed temple in India, it is believed that the temple was demolished to build a mosque. Citing the same reason, the Right-wing groups announced a march to the mosque. Starting from June 3rd, the curfew will be into effect till the fifth of this month, which is Sunday.
