New US Visa Policy Worries Indian Students

The new policy which gonna come into effect on August 9th this year will calculate the number of days of unlawful presence from the day violation of norm is identified.
Until now, Individuals having F-1 Visa have a grace period of 60 days for conversion of Student Visa into Work Visa for continuing their stay in US. As per the new rule, Countdown begins from the day student fails to maintain the immigration status. From the day a student stops pursuing their preferred course or gets engaged in unauthorized activity or complete his/her programme or grace period, The Immigration Status will be considered not maintained.
As per data, About 4,575 out of 98,970 students from India overstayed in US against the norms in the fiscal 2016. Around 1.86 lakh students from India have been in US in fiscal 2017. The new policy will have a big impact on Indians.
