On the new year occasion too the platforms saw massive orders. Zomato and Swiggy said that they received more than 5 lakh orders on the new year. The two platforms received a flood of orders as customers celebrated the occasion in a big way.
Customers ordered various food items across the platforms. Swiggy and Zomato are leading the space. Combined they delivered more than 5 lakh orders to customers across the nation. From Biryani to Pizza to chips, customers celebrated the occasion.
Biryani and Pizza are the top orders on the platforms. More than 3.5 lakh biryanis were ordered on New Year's eve while 2.5 lakh pizzas were ordered by customers. Other items are made into the most ordered items.
Customers also ordered chips, nachos, cooldrink, lemons, and others for the occasion. Compared to last year the food items ordered by customers on the platforms increased by 47 percent. We can understand the business the platforms have created.
Biryani is one of the most favourite food items for Indians across the region. A few states like Telangana which see a massive non-veg eating population prefer Biryani. Pizza took the second position on the list after Biriyani.
