By: Tupaki Desk | 31 Dec 2021 6:09 AM GMTNew Year's eve is a time where more accidents were recorded with the high alcohol consumption by commuters. By mixing drinking and driving, the drunk commuters not only put their lives in danger but they push the lives of other computers also towards the danger.
This is a big menace we often face. To put an end to this, the state-owned corporation service Telangana State Road Transport Corporation(TSRTC) had come up with a unique idea. TSRTC Managing Director V.C. Sajjanar announced the unique decision through social media.
RTC MD said that Metro Express buses would be run on special routes on the eve of New Year for public convenience. In his tweet, Sajjanar gave a list of routes in which the Metro Express buses would be operated. The charge for this would be Rs 100 per head in one route.
"#TSRTC has planned to operate Metro Express buses for the convenience of the public from 19:30 hrs. to 21:30 in the Up journey & from 12:30 AM to 3:00 AM in the Down journey with a flat fare of Rs 100/- per head in one way on the following routes given below," his tweet reads.
In the same tweet, Sajjanar shared a picture that urges the commuters to not end up in jail for New Year by getting caught for Drunk and Drive. He appealed to everyone to play their role in reducing the carbon footprints and be patriotic.
He also said that the decision was taken to help the public celebrate New Year responsibly. Those who celebrate the New Year in establishments like hotels, restaurants, pubs, and other places, then can reach their places in the buses without causing any disturbance to others.
The special buses will start between 7: 30 PM to 11: 30 PM on the 31st of this month for one route and the second batch of service will start from 12:30 AM and will go on till 3 AM.
Not just this, TSRTC also made the 18-seater AC buses available for the same and those who want to use the service for their commute will have to pay a sum of Rs 4,000.
