New Zealand's Visa rules worry Indians
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 Dec 2016 7:39 AM GMTNew Zealand offered not even half number of study visas to Indian students in the past five months when compared to the same period last year. From July to October this year, New Zealand sanctioned only 3,102 visas which is 48% of 6,462 visas last year.
Visa rules have been tightened by New Zealand in the recent past. Immigration Officials say many Indians were obtaining study visas though they have little money to support them. Inability to speak fluent English is the other reason.
However, New Zealand is facing criticism for rejecting visas to several potential Indian students. On few occasions, The concerned officials weren't even able to say on what grounds the visa application has been rejected. Even those Indian students who obtained visa in the past were denied visit again.
Already, US President-elect Donald Trump pledged to amend existing Immigration Laws to support citizens of his country. Even UK isn't co-operating with Indian Government over sanction of visas. The tightened Visa rules of New Zealand is now another headache for Indians.
